Quebec Olympic Athletes: Catherine Ward

The Olympics started on: 12\2\2010 and Catherine Ward is going to participate and is hoping to win a gold medal in ice hockey. Catherine Ward was born in Longueil, Quebec, Canada on 27\2\1987. Her hometown is Montreal, Canada. Catherine Ward when playing ice hockey is the defense woman.

She is also a member of the 2008-2009 hockey Canada National Female’s Team. Also she is a member of the 2008-2009 McGill Martlets. In the female hockey season it won a Canadian Interuniversity sport title.In 2007 Catherine played for the Canadian under-22 team two times. Catherine was a member of the European Air Canada held in Ravensburg, Germany in January. she followed the victory by beating the USA in Ottawa by winning a three game exhibition series. In 2009 Catherine Ward and her team mate Charline Labonte represented Team Canada at the IIHF Female’s world Hockey championship.

Catherine Ward has won 6 awards and honors here they are:

* Catherine Ward was the CIS first all-Canadian team in 2007,2008,and 2009 being a defence man. * She won athlete of the week in 29/9/08 and in 5/10/08. * Ward also won silver with the Canadians under-22 team at 2009 MLP Nations cup held in Germany. * She as the most valuble payer in 2009 in the CIS women’s world championship. *Catherine won the most outstanding defence man in 2009. *She was the CIS and QSSF rookie of the year.
